Adhesive capsulitis can be benefited greatly by using acupuncture, in this article we're going to find out how.

This healing system has been used for millenia in China. That is a very long, very safe, and very effective track record if you ask me!

Generally speaking it entails using ultra thin needles into certain areas of the body. This in turn frees up the flow of 'chi' or life energy so that it can go where it's needed in the body, namely the area of pain in this case. This energy flows along channels known in acupuncture as meridians.

Did you know that millions of people in the USA alone suffer from this painful condition? It's true, you just don't hear much about it.

Many times it's precipitated by a trauma to the local area, setting it up for more problems to come.

Generally speaking there are three main stages to be aware of:

1- The freezing stage – This is where you start to lose your range of motion (ROM) and begin experiencing some pain. It is absolutely imperative to take massive, immediate action at this point, otherwise it will get much much worse and last many times longer than it otherwise would have.

2- The frozen stage – This is where your in the thick of it. For some, the pain may decrease, but everyone is left with severely restricted ROM to the point that otherwise mundane activities such as combing your hair or brushing your teeth become an uncomfortable or even impossible chore. Again, its vitally important to have the right treatment plan in place and to be taking the action steps each and every day to get through this ASAP.

3- The thawing stage – Finally , some relief is in sight! A gradual return of your ROM begins at this point though the pain will linger. It's still just as important to be working your program to the best of your ability.

So, in summary, the proper physical therapy along with adjuncts such as acupuncture (and of course proper nutrition and supplementation) is what's necessary if you want to minimize the time spent in pain with adhesive capsulitis.

For more information on a step by step program that works, go here.

According to studies, using acupuncture and exercises at this stage of the condition, could increase shoulder movement by 40-90%. The combination of both treatment dramatically improves range of movement. The use of NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) is not as effective at this stage of injury because stiffness of the shoulder becomes more of a problem. In addition, acupuncture is a natural and safe method in increasing shoulder movements that have very little side effects.

New Look at Pain Relief

“EFT offers great healing benefits.” Deepak Chopra, MD

“Where did the pain go?”, is the common response from most EFT newcomers. Properly applied, an estimated 80% achieve noticeable to complete pain relief within minutes and the result is often long lasting. No meds, surgeries or other medical interventions involved … and you can do it for yourself. You can also learn the EFT basics for free with our Free EFT Get Started Package or you can save time and dive right in to become an expert with our DVD Libraries.

Read this informative press release: Pain Relief – New “Acupuncture without Needles” Technique Reports 80% Effectiveness, Often Out-Performing Drugs

Why such dramatic relief?: EFT aims at two vital causes of pain that are largely outside the medical approach. This is why EFT often works for pain relief where nothing else will.

Cause #1 – Disrupted Subtle Energies: It has long been known that subtle energies circulate throughout our bodies and that the free flow of this energy can be vital to our health. Interrupt this energy and the result can be pain and disease. Stop it altogether and you may be headed toward death. Eastern health practices have been based on this concept for over 5,000 years. Einstein’s findings also relate to our bodies being composed of energy.

It should be no surprise, then, that repairing any disruptions in these subtle energies can lead to symptom and pain relief. Fortunately, the easy to learn EFT process allows even beginners to improve this free flow by stimulating (tapping on) certain “release points” on the body.

Cause #2 – Negative Emotions (Anger, Trauma, Fear, etc): It is a well established medical fact that our emotions trigger varying chemicals in our bodies. Joyous emotions can produce healing chemicals while negative emotions can create disease causing chemistry into our systems. For example, you may be familiar with how stress might contribute to ulcers or high blood pressure. We suggest that negative emotions may be a major cause of pain too. We have seen evidence of this repeatedly as pain subsides once negative emotions have been addressed with EFT.

Properly done, the EFT process address both of these causes simultaneously. Just read the actual cases below.

EFT is a Universal Healing Aid and expands well beyond pain management. It is easy to apply and often works where nothing else will. To get started with EFT just watch the free 7 minute intro movie on the left. You can then Learn EFT for little or no cost.
Here is an excellent read on using herbal remedies based on ancient Indian wisdom known as Ayurveda as an adjunct to your shoulder physical therapy treatment program.

Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, is a condition characterized by stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. This condition typically develops slowly over several months and consists of three stages: the painful stage; the frozen stage; and the thawing stage. This condition is caused by inflammation and stiffness of the shoulder capsule due to old age, injury, prolonged immobilization or health conditions like diabetes, heart disease, lung disease etc.

The Ayurvedic treatment of frozen shoulder is aimed at treating stiffness and pain and preserving the mobility of the shoulder joint. Medicines like Yograj-Guggulu, Triphala-Guggulu, Kaishor-Guggulu, Sinhanaad-Guggulu, Maha-Rasnadi-Guggulu and Punarnavadi-Guggulu are used to reduce the inflammation in the shoulder joint. Medicines like Maha-Vat-Vidhwans-Ras, Vat-Gajankush-Ras, Vish-Tinduk-Vati, Dashmoolarishta, Sarpagandha (Rauwolfia serpentina), Nirgundi (Vitex negundo), Tagar (Valeriana wallichii) and Khurasani ova (Hyoscyamus niger) are used to reduce pain in the joints. Stiffness in the shoulder capsule can be reduced using medicines like Trayodashang-Guggulu, Tapyadi-Loh, Ekang-Veer-Ras, Laxadi-Guggulu, Shallaki (Boswellia serrata) and Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera).

Application of heat to the shoulder joint is also quite helpful in reducing pain and stiffness. Medicines like Vishgarbha oil, Mahanarayan oil and Mahamash oil are applied on the affected joint. This is followed by a localized steam fomentation of medicines like Maha-Rasnadi-Qadha, Dashmool-Qadha and Nirgundi-Qadha. This procedure is repeated daily for a few weeks till there is considerable reduction in pain and stiffness, after which the frequency of the procedure is reduced gradually.

Physiotherapy of the affected joint is very important to maintain as much range of motion as possible. The shoulder joint should be subjected to gradual stretching and mobility exercises without stressing the joint or causing a lot of pain. Acupuncture and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) are both quite effective in reducing the pain in frozen shoulder. In a few patients where symptoms do not improve because of scar tissue and adhesions inside the shoulder joint, surgery may be a last option to provide relief in this condition.

If you already have a stabbing pain from your frozen shoulder do you think you want someone sticking needles into you on top of that!? The answer may be surprisingly…yes!

Acupuncture goes back thousands of years. Extremely thin needles are used which cause little to no pain upon insertion. They are applied to certain meridian points of the body to unblock stagnant energy,or chi, that can cause a buildup of pain, including frozen shoulder pain. Unblocking this energy allows it to flow freely again, which in turn, allows the body to heal itself.

Strangely enough though,it’s not always a direct correlation in regards to the location of pain and the location of the trigger point of the pain. For practical information to my readers for instance, the frozen shoulder trigger point is on your shin. There is a useful lil gem for you.

What’s the takeaway? What’s the action step you can take with this new, albeit strange, information?

Find a qualified acupuncturist asap, and before you signup, make sure they are aware of your condition,as well as where this ‘frozen shoulder’ trigger point on your shin is.

Healing frozen shoulder pain with acunpuncture.

First of all,I’m glad you took a chance and decided to view this article.Although it is getting to be more and more mainstream these days,I realize that acupuncture is still quite ‘out there’ for many folks. Perhaps your frozen shoulder pain has become so bad that you are getting out of your comfort zone, which has brought you here. Regardless of the reason, again,I’m glad your reading,it could very well change your life…and help alleviate your pain!
Before diving into the meat of the article, let me assuage your potential doubts and fears. First of all,I have personally seen my mother benefit tremendously from acupuncture treatments for her frozen shoulder pain. So there you have practical first hand knowledge from yours truly.Second of all,if the word ‘energy’ or ‘chi’ doesn’t sit well with you, that’s fine. We are all talking about the same thing whether we call it that,or for those of you that are more judeo christian oriented,it’s the same thing as the Breath of Life that God breathed into all of us upon Creation. So with that out of the way, lets get to it!

Acupuncture dates back many thousands of years in Chinese culture. It works with what are termed energy meridians that run throughout the human body.Inserting extremely fine needles into specific points can either stimulate or tone down the energy running along the meridians, depending on the need. This has the effect of tonifying the bodies energy system and ‘unsticking’ any energetic blocks one may have. These blocks can and do cause pain, including frozen shoulder pain.

Aside from clearing energetic blockages, there is another, perhaps more practical way, that acupuncture can help alleviate pain. A skilled practicioner can stimulate certain areas of the body which can cause the release of endorphins, the bodies natural painkiller chemicals. Couple this with the ability to also stimulate and release the bodies natural relaxation chemical messengers and you have a really good combo for feeling better!

If you would like to know more detailed information on this subject, and if it’s right for you. The detailed kind of information that is beyond the scope of this short article,or even a random google search,I highly recomend finding and contacting a qualified practicioner here http://www.acufinder.com/

Or if your like me and would rather read, read, read up on a subject before anything else, here’s a great book for beginners that will give you all the basics for only about six bucks. Acupuncture For Everyone
