Hi Everyone,

Brenda Shoshanna’s brother was very reluctant to use EFT, but did so anyway. To his astonishment, his frozen shoulder gained complete relief. Here is what Brenda says as her article unfolds, “We kept going. This was exciting. He still couldn’t move it completely to the right or left. We tapped on ‘Even though my movement is still constricted, I deeply and completely love and accept myself and accept my arm.’ He started laughing. I did too. This was fun. This was thrilling. His arm started moving to the left now.” Please consult physicians on all medical issues.

Hugs, Gary

By Dr. Brenda Shoshanna

Here is an amazing and totally unexpected (by me) EFT result. I was introduced to EFT several months ago, and have been progressively tapping and studying your wonderful DVDs. Though I’ve been trying to do some surrogate tapping, I’d never directly tried EFT on another person.

However, one day, my brother came early to an open house I was hosting. He’d had a painful, frozen shoulder for about 4 months and over this time was constantly telling me how hard it was to lift it at all, how much it hurt and that it was interfering with his sleep at night, waking him in pain. He had done some exercises for it, suggested by a physical therapist, but those exercises only made the condition worse.

My brother knew nothing at all about EFT, except that I had learned about a fascinating technique that was helping me, and I’d been tapping. He didn’t really want to hear more about it, as he is usually quite resistant to these kinds of teachings. However, I had a very strong impulse to have him tap on his frozen arm, as he seemed so uncomfortable. I said, “Why not try it just for a little while. There’s nothing you can lose, except possibly some of the pain? There are absolutely no negative side effects.” As he had been in so much pain for so long, he reluctantly agreed.

I showed him the points to tap and which fingers to tap with. We started tapping on Even though my arm hurts… After a few rounds of tapping, he began to notice the pain decreasing. Excited, he was willing to do more. We then tapped on, Even though a part of me is blocked and frozen … and I accept the blocked and frozen parts. His face lit up in a huge smile. Right before our eyes, the arm was moving. He looked shocked. Frankly, I was too. It was going way up. Before, he could only barely lift it.

We kept going. This was exciting. He still couldn’t move it completely to the right or left. We tapped on Even though my movement is still constricted, I deeply and completely love and accept myself and accept my arm. He started laughing. I did too. This was fun. This was thrilling. His arm started moving to the left now.

He had a moment of fear, saying he was afraid he was cheating, having the pain leave so quickly. We then tapped on, Even though I feel I deserve to be in pain, and have to suffer for a long time … but I am willing to let this go.

We did this tapping over and over again. In about fifteen minutes total, his arm was completely fine. No pain, a tiny bit of stiffness, (which left a few minutes later), and full movement. Both of us were shocked and thrilled. He didn’t know what to make of it. I didn’t need to make anything of it. I just felt deep gratitude.

Guests arrived at the party and we told them what had happened. In a little while lots of people started tapping, and I put on one of Gary’s DVD’s to show everyone what it was about. There was a lot of spontaneous interest and fascination. What a way to start the new year!

My brother’s arm has not hurt again, nor has the movement been restricted. In fact, he said he just forgot about what it was like for it to be frozen. He’s fine. No follow up needed.

Thank you so much for this amazing method. I use it much more now, spend more time with the DVDs and am sharing it more and more with others, and hope to learn how to do the surrogate tapping more effectively.

Actually, when I’m now involved with someone who is hurting, I don’t feel I have the right not to share this.

O.K , so you have hurt your shoulder but how can you recognize what you have done to it?

Firstly your shoulder is made of muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments and cartilage. A couple of the most typical wounds to shoulders are a rotator cuff tear and a frozen shoulder and it’s best not to mix them up as the treatments are seriously different.

The rotator cuff is made of 4 muscles that stabilize the shoulder and help to move the shoulder particularly any movement above shoulder height. Without the rotator cuff to keep the ball in effect we might put our shoulder out of joint everytime that we lifted anything or threw anything. The rotator cuff are in peril whenever we are lifting or throwing or working at height. The most common wounds to this muscle grouping stem from repeated movements, knocks or merely plain wear as we grow older. Sadly it’s the muscle that runs thru a channel on the acromion ( part of the shoulder blade ), so when it became wounded and began to swell I ended up with a shoulder impingement which led to needing frozen shoulder help.

The result was loss of strength in my arm, agony whenever I attempted lifting my arm or moving it behind me. Tucking in my T-shirt, reaching out for a mug of coffee, lifting anything off of a shelf became tough and as time went by it just deteriorated. What was occuring was the distended, damaged tendon was now bunching up whenever I used it and getting pinched against the bone. The opening that it sometimes moved thru was now too tiny, so whenever I used my arm with certain movements it was catching on the acromion and getting more worn.

So I had to rest it and wait for the swelling to relax. It is just when you’re made to rest it that you realize quite how much you use your shoulder and that you need some frozen shoulder help. You cannot work thru this as the agony is is telling you that more damage is being done, eventually,if you manage to triumph over the agony, you might end up snapping the tendon all together and then there’s an entire heap of issues.

Depending on how tough the injury is you could be suggested to have an operation to release the besieged muscle to permit it to cure. But Rest, treatment of the swelling followed by exercises to build up the rotator cuff muscles might be all that you need.Make sure you get qualified advice by a professional when seeking frozen shoulder help to ease your pain.

I will spread this article out over multiple posts for ease of reading and catagorizing.Enjoy

The purpose of this article is to give you a general, yet fairly detailed, introduction to frozen shoulder. It will help you determine if the pain you are experiencing is indeed frozen shoulder,or perhaps another type of condition. Once you are finished reading, you will have a solid knowledge base to continue on with the proper treatment.

Frozen shoulder is most well known for its debilitating effects on both range of motion as well as the pain it can cause in the general shoulder area. A statistical average of 2% of the population suffers from this condition. While due to various factors it can occur at any age,one is most likely to suffer from frozen shoulder pain between forty and sixty years of age. Again, for reasons unknown,it tends to affect women more than men, though men are certainly far from excempt.

Are you afraid your frozen shoulder may be permanent? Give this article a good read and it will alleviate your concerns as well as lead you to the proper treatment for your condition.

Some people become stricken with a frozen shoulder and become worried that it may be with them forever! I assure you it won’t be. However, what you do to treat it will determine how long you have to suffer for. Choose unqualified information from random sources and you could actually even make it worse, extending your pain. Choose the proper shoulder physical therapy and you will minimize the time you spend healing.

If this isn’t the first article you’ve read on the subject, you may have seen other quotes elsewhere saying it will take many, many months if not years to heal frozen shoulder pain. This is certainly not necessary. Healing can take place quite quickly once you start using the right treatment program so take heart.

So what happens when you develop this disease? For starters your shoulder girdle as a whole will become painful and inflamed, making it difficult to sleep. Next, you will start to lose your range of motion, being especially bad with attempted reaches across the body or above the head. Third and finally, you will begin to ‘thaw’ out, your pain will melt away, and your range of motion will come back.

If you have already been suffering for a while,or perhaps are just digging into the research on frozen shoulder because it just hit you, either way,you want it gone now! So let’s not waste anymore time. As mentioned above,an improper program can lead to further damage and prolonged suffering. Trying to ‘wing it’ or just taking random bits and pieces from unqualified(though perhaps genuinely caring)websites will only lead to disaster. What you need is a shoulder physical therapy program designed by a physical therapist specifically for frozen shoulder. One that has been used by countless people to heal, and heal quickly, naturally, and fully. Remember,we want to speed the process up as much as possible without causing further damage.

So get ready to get rid of such symptoms as general shoulder pain and stiffness, limited range of motion, and difficulty sleeping. And you can do this in the comfort of your own home as well with less than 30 minutes a day. No need for expensive hospital visits or surgeries. Just a solid, proven treatment plan provided by a qualified physical therapist with years of experience.

Learn exactly:

-How to stretch for maximum benefit, without going overboard into the ‘potential injury’ zone. How often and how long for ideal results

-Specific range of motion exercises that will help you regain the ability to reach over your head once again

-The NUMBER ONE reason why most people don’t heal!

-Synergistic strengthening exercises to offset the muscular weakness that tends to otherwise accompany frozen shoulder.

-Details photos of everything, every step of the way, leaving no guesswork

The original article is noted at the bottom.

Have you been diagnosed with a frozen shoulder or “adhesive capsulitis”? If so, and if you have had this condition for any length of time you have probably researched the web for treatment ideas, or spoken with others who have offered up their frozen shoulder remedies. Everyone who has had or know someone who has had a frozen shoulder will not be shy about giving their golden advice. It’s natural after hearing someone’s “miracle cure” to want to try such advice in hopes of finally getting some pain relief. The honest truth is that most home remedies are ineffective at best and at worst can cause more pain and stiffness. This article will discuss a few of these proclaimed medical frozen shoulder remedies and attempt to separate fact from fiction. Warning: some of the remedies mention in this article may cause extreme laughter.

Remedy No. 1: Auto part lubricant — Without mentioning by name this wonderful product that begins with a “W” and ends in a number, it is a widely used home remedy in the south for curing a frozen shoulder (and many other joint maladies). How do I know? I hear this from my patients in the clinic. “Just spray a little on your shoulder and it will loosen it up” is often what I hear. Now I often will not argue the point that no such product can actually penetrate to the joint and loosen it up because typically the person giving the remedy has tried it multiple times and swears by it’s effectiveness. Truth is that this is mostly harmless if not used on an open wound, around the eyes, and not inhaled. Though it certainly is not a medical frozen shoulder remedy.

Remedy No. 2: Place a bar of soap at the foot of the bed — This is a remedy for many ailments including gout, arthritis, and the shingles. Nevertheless I have patients who claim to have eased their shoulder pain by doing this. Forget the fact that by the time they reach me their shoulder is as tight as a banjo string and as useless as a snow machine at the north pole. I’ve even had the patient mention this remedy for growing hair on my balding head!

Remedy No. 3: Using a hairdryer over the “frozen shoulder” — At least this one can produce a little heat, but overall ineffective in “melting” a frozen shoulder. This remedy actually took me by surprise and made me giggle when I normally keep a good poker face. Again, not a valid medical frozen shoulder remedy.

Remedy No. 4: Taking a multi-vitamin — Many people think (and it may indeed be true) that a frozen shoulder is caused by some vitamin or mineral defficiency and by taking a multi vitamin their symptoms will eventually disappear. Usually though the conversation always ends with the patient asking me to attend the next multi-level marketing meeting taking place Thursday night at cousin Eddie’s place. If my means of living depends on pushing products that produce expensive urine I guess I would think it to be a miracle cure as well.

Remedy No. 5: Bee stings — I actually heard this one only once, but it was so unusual that I had to research it a little. In fact their have been some anicdotle studies which looked at the effectiveness of bee sting venom but it was used to treat arthritis. Funny how the market on “bee products” became hot after a news story was featured on tv about using bee stings to treat arthritic symptoms. I’ve had a frozen shoulder before and believe me It would take more than a few news flashes before I’m seeking to invade a bee hive. This does seem to have some potential validity as there is interesting research being done with arthritis pain. However, make sure to get proper medical frozen shoulder exercises and make sure you don’t have bee allergies!

I’m sure there are many other frozen shoulder remedies worth mentioning, but these were the most humerous. The plain truth is that a frozen shoulder responds best to an organized physical therapy program designed to relieve pain and increase range of motion. Care should be taken to obtain a proper diagnosis and then seek treatment from a licensed therapist who specializes in medical frozen shoulder treatment.

I’ve been following the information being provided by the author below for some time now. He seems to really know his stuff. If this article rings true for you,I would encourage you to check out his site and the rest of his articles. As I always stress to my readers, everyone is different, hence the wide variety of frozen shoulder treatment options on this site.

Did you know that there are massage techniques for frozen shoulder that can help you gain improved range of motion instantly and decrease your pain? Stiffness and pain that limit shoulder motion with adhesive capsulitis is primarily due to painful adhesions that form on the surface of the joint capsule. However in the early stages of this condition, some loss of motion is due to protective muscle guarding and spasm, which can limit the effectiveness of stretching exercises and in most cases actually increase shoulder pain with stretching!

What happens is the patient is given a series of stretching exercises by their therapist in hopes to stretch or break adhesions, but because their shoulder may already be in an inflamed state, these exercises only inflame their shoulder more, thereby causing more pain, more inflammation, and more stiffness. Therefore these stretches are not doing what they are designed to do because of the protective muscle guarding. In the early inflammatory stages the patient should use frozen shoulder massage techniques to gain range of motion and allow the irritation to settle down before begin more aggressive with other stretching or ROM movements. When a person is given aggressive stretching exercises by their PT it’s no wonder they soon give up!

One way to overcome this vicious cycle of pain is to use specific muscle release techniques. By locating these muscles and applying graduated pressure you can get the spasms to “let go”, thereby instantly improving joint motion. Sometimes the outcome is very dramatic and the patient can gain 20-30 degrees or more in one session. This can be repeated as often as necessary to loosen the shoulder and provide the patient with more pain-free function. These techniques require visual instruction and are too complex to cover within a text article. However here is a description of one of the massage techniques for frozen shoulder that can easily be visualized:

Lie on on a bed on your stomach close to the edge with your affected arm hanging off of the bed

Have a partner place their fingers at the back of the arm pit (axilla) and then move their fingers approximately 1.5 to 2 inches laterally toward the spine.

Have them start with light steady pressure and gradually increase the pressure to somewhat strong over a period of 30-45 seconds, then suddenly release. Repeat 3-5 times.

Next have them begin to passively raise your arm towards your head while applying the same pressure in the spot described above. Movements should only occur in 5-10 degree increments with graduated pressure and release.

It’s a good idea to start with heat first if available. Never push into pain and, as always, consult your doctor before beginning any massage techniques for frozen shoulder or any exercise or stretching plan.

This article is going to point out to you the biggest mistakes and pitfalls that alot of people suffer through needlessly when it comes to treating their frozen shoulder.

There is alot of information out there on this condition, much of which is either outdated or downright wrong! It’s easy to become confused and take on the wrong treatment program when your in so much pain. But,if you want to heal as quickly and fully as possible, there are some things to avoid. This list has been compile through many different people’s experiences with frozen shoulder.

Do NOT:

-Simply attempt to wait it out.Your pain will not just magically go away,at least, not without leaving some sort of potentially permanent damage. Its vital to get the proper treatment as soon as possible. This will entail a proper shoulder physical therapy designed by an expert and followed religiously.

-Overly force your range of motion. True, treatments due gravitate around the basic premise of working things loose, however there is such a thing as too much of a good thing! Again, this falls back to finding the proper treatment designed by someone in the know.

-Diagnose yourself. It’s always wise to get a proper diagnosis from a qualified practicioner. After all,if you misdiagnose the issue, your going to be implementing the wrong treatment, which could leave your progress stalled if not reversed. So step one is always proper diagnosis.

-Perhaps the most important of all. Please do NOT try to perform ‘made up on the fly’ exercises to try to heal your frozen shoulder. As mentioned above, things like this could very well make your injuries worse not better. Why try to feel around in the dark for something that works when their are people that are experts in the matter? This also includes doing the program with determination and a daily routine.

Once you have taken the proper steps to diagnose frozen shoulder, what do you do for treatment? What rehabiliation do you use to heal your frozen shoulder pain? I will provide information below as to your best options, saving you the time, money, and pain of sifting through countless shoulder physical therapy programs.

Very generally speaking, frozen shoulder rehab consists of various exercises that stretch the area with the purpose of capsular release. You must use the the proper frozen shoulder treatment in order to not only get results, but to avoid getting worse! An overagressive,or ill informed teacher could cause exacerbate the problem. Don’t buy anything or pay anyone until you are sure that person is qualified. Once you find a qualified person to help you heal your adhesive capsulitis,he or she is going to have you do a good bit of specific stretching to begin healing and get your range of motion back.

This is not something that an amateur should try on their own with guesswork,as you could well make the situation worse. There will be some discomfort,if not downright pain, but it can be necessary to breakthrough the current constriction of frozen shoulder. Don’t give up! It will be well worth getting freedom of motion back again, and will be far less than what dragging out the condition will inflict. Read the review on this program here,he is a compassionate, highly trained and qualified physical therapist with alot of experience. See if it feels right for you and if so,give it a try. I wish you the best of luck in healing your frozen shoulder,if you should have any questions or need any personal support, please don’t hesitate to email me directly using the contact form on this blog. God bless

Frozen shoulder, regardless of the cause, has the same set of symptoms. Why is it important to know the specific symptoms of frozen shoulder? So that you can differentiate between true frozen shoulder pain and separate, yet perhaps similar, shoulder injury. This way you can get the proper treatment for your condition.

Here is a list of typical signs that you may have a frozen shoulder:

-First and foremost,a constant, aching pain that could be either dull or sharp in the shoulder joint. So be sure to not ignore this early warning sign. It could save you alot of time and pain in the future.

-You notice your range of motion has become limited. It’s especially harder to reach above your head and/or across your body. If you have problems with common activites such as buttoning your shirt, combing your hair, brushing your teeth, scratching your head, etc…it could be frozen shoulder.

Your sleeping patterns have become disrupted due to an abnormal discomfort in the shoulder area. This one is especially self-perpetuating. We regenerate in our sleep,so without deep, restful sleep, any injury is just going to get worse.

If you or a loved one is suffering from any of the above mentioned issues, use this information and go see a qualified practicioner to properly, definatively diagnose frozen shoulder with the proper tests. A quick note, there are ways to achieve this without the harmful affects of a radioactive x-ray or mri. Found out how at the above linked article on how to diagnose frozen shoulder.
